CAIT Staff Member Graduates with Ed.D.

I have been in the education profession since 1977.  I presently serve as an adjunct instructor of the Humanities. During the autumn of 2011, Stephanie Schull introduced me to an “interteach” method/strategy created by Philip Hineline, a psychology professor at Temple University.  Dr. Schull disseminated this information by means of a workshop, sponsored by CAIT at Hawaii Pacific University, which I attended. I readily embraced this method and restructured my approach to Homer’s Iliad along the parameters of “Interteach” for the spring semester 2012.  In practice, this approach was quite successful in that student response and learning considerably increased.  I have decided to use this method again during my spring, 2013 course so that I may work out my own “kinks” encountered during this “first time” experience.  I think it is a “keeper.” I appreciate of Dr. Schull’s efforts to increase teaching effectiveness at Hawaii Pacific University through the introduction of this method to the faculty. - Mary Chin, Ph.D.
